Cloud computing:-
In simple words cloud computing enables on-demand services like compute, storage, networking, etc. Which can be accessed through the internet and the user is not required to manage these resources. These can be access through the internet from anywhere across the world.Cloud computing, also
known simply as “the cloud,” refers to computer resources, services, programs,
etc. that users access via the Internet rather than on their own hardware. To
dive a little deeper, let’s take a look at two key areas of cloud computing.

Cloud deployment models and cloud service models. Cloud
deployment models describe a cloud environment, which can vary in terms of
scale, privacy, and ownership. There are many different deployment models, but
today we’ll be focusing on the three most common: public cloud, private cloud, and
hybrid cloud. Public cloud deployments are commercially available environments
that the general public can access. These environments are provided by an
external party which grants scalable resources for its users. The top three
public cloud environments are Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google
Cloud Platform. Private cloud deployments are proprietary cloud environments
that enterprises control on their own architecture. These deployments act as an
extension of the enterprise’s infrastructure and are fully owned and operated
by the enterprise. Lastly, hybrid cloud environments – as you might have
guessed - are a combination of both public and private solutions. Using
on-premise hardware, a hybrid setup allows users to communicate with each other
and orchestrate cross-environment tasks.
Now that we’ve
covered deployment models, let’s take a look at the service, or delivery side
of cloud computing; which is broken up into three separate models: software as a
service, platform as a service, and infrastructure as a service.
Software-as-a-service is a software distribution model where users access an
application over the Internet while a provider hosts the application locally.
Essentially, the customer uses the software in the cloud with their own
devices. Platform-as-a-service is a cloud-based environment for developers to
build, install, and test applications. This eliminates the need for creators to
maintain a development environment for every application, as the framework is
provided for them. Lastly, infrastructure as a service provides deliver
infrastructure resources to users via virtualization technologies. The user
manages the infrastructure themselves without having to install any physical
hardware.
So what are the benefits of integrating the cloud into your
enterprise’s infrastructure? One of them is cost efficiency. Cloud deployments
remove the need to install and maintain hardware, which can save enterprises
money in the long run. Public cloud providers usually offer a pay-as-you-go pricing
model, where enterprises only pay for the cloud resources they use rather than pay
a fixed amount. Second, cloud environments are naturally scalable, which gives
enterprises as much or as little resources as they need for their individual workflows
– making it much easier to access the solution that’s the right fit for your company.
Finally, because the cloud is easily accessible from virtually anywhere, it
promotes collaboration between enterprise employees.
